It’s a ‘What’s Eating NYC’ behind-the-scenes recap of the 4th Annual Harlem EatUp co-founded by Marcus Samuelsson and Herb Karlitz!

The festival was a combo of free and ticketed events. Including private events such as a Pop-Up Dine in Series with some well-known Harlem restaurants.

WENYC had an amazing time covering the Pop-Up Dine in Series @ Harlem Shake with renowned Chef Josh Capon! The grand finale of the Harlem EatUp festival was a spectacular two-day outdoor event.

The Harlem Stroll and the Ultimate Grand Tasting took place at Morningside Park. The dreary, rainy grey day on Saturday did nothing to damper the good time had by all. Sunday was even better, a bright sunny day to match everyone’s festive mood.

The Marketplace at the festival offered free admission to the public where guests could wander in at their leisure and visit their many of their favorite Harlem vendors, including Mr. Cory CEO and Co-founder of Mr. Cory‘s Cookies

WENYC host Tabitha Williams had a blast interviewing Mr. Cory‘s Cookies co-founders Mr. Cory aka #CookieKid and Cookie Mom in an exclusive interview for our premier season of What’s Eating NYC! Gotta catch the out-takes with Cookie Mom, we were in tears laughing.

There was also cooking demos for children in the ‘KidZone sponsored by Whole Foods Market. Mr. Cory and Chef Joe were some of the KidZone cooking demo presenters.

The free Main Stage was sponsored by Macy’s featuring live cooking demos and music via Dj Stormin’ Norman keeping the crowd pumped with his seamless music flowing throughout the day.

The cooking demos tho’ were fire! Melba Wilson of Melba‘s restaurant with Jarobi White (Chef and member of A Tribe Called Quest). ‘threw down’ in the kitchen making some mouth-watering delectables.

Also on the scene was Laila Ali, cookbook author, former undefeated champion boxer and Top Chef Finalist Adrienne Nona Cheatham and many others.

Plus, there was the ‘Ultimate Grand Tasting’ a ticketed event featuring the Harlem flavors of 20+ of your favorite Harlem restaurants!

Harlem EatUp is the ultimate festival for the consummate foodie. However, there was more to Harlem EatUp than just libations and food. There were also lots of culture, music and plenty of dancing!

The Harlem EatUp festival was so phenomenal it’s becoming an international event; drawing in people from all over the world!

If you couldn’t make it this year, enjoy ‘What’s Eating NYC’ behind-the-scenes recap of this must attend event. Perhaps you can catch Harlem EatUp next year!

And stay tuned for our coverage of Harlem EatUp on the premier season of WENYC; one of the most highly anticipated TV Show of 2018!

Remember, if it‘s happening in NYC, it‘s on WENYC.
